Modern Coastal Style

If you’re longing for a casual feel with understated elegance that evokes the ease of beach life, Modern Coastal may be the style for you. Inspired by the organic colors and textures found on sandy beaches with weathered driftwood, Modern Coastal is a fresh twist on the traditional Coastal style that normally features a bolder color palette. Modern Coastal is more about the feel of the beach and includes a more monochromatic color palette with grey, whites, creams and softer blues along with plenty of texture from light woods, natural fiber rugs, baskets and easy-care textiles like cotton, linen and twill. Light and airy, Modern Coastal mixes Bohemian with the classic Hamptons style.

For those of us with fur kids, I’ve tweaked the design a bit - still keeping with the same clean lines and monochromatic color palette. If a white or off-white sofa isn’t ideal for you, try a dark grey instead. Swap out the sisal rug layered with a woven throw rug, for an outdoor rug that will be much more fur friendly and easy to clean! The coffee table is in keeping with the original design but is made with a solid light colored wood so as not to trap dirt and fur. The chairs are the same as they’re from an outdoor furniture line so they’ll withstand fur and dirty paws! And all of the pillows are made with indoor/outdoor fabrics - cleaning will be easy breezy!
