Edesign

Edesign is a modern, completely digital alternative to full-service interior design. Everything from conception and planning to purchasing is done virtually. Edesign allows you to create your own space while being guided by an experienced designer.

Think of it as having your own personal design guru, someone who will develop a design plan that you can execute. In today’s digital world, there’s no need to pay astronomical prices to hire a designer to do all of your shopping, physically place the furniture, put the room together, and pay a markup on goods and services. Edesign with Soulful Home Design results in a design blueprint along with all of the resources (shopping links, etc) to create your own unique sanctuary. I’m proud to save you thousands of dollars and allow you to put together your own space in your own time

How does the Edesign process work?

1 — Consultation

The first step is scheduling a phone call, video session, or email so we can talk about your space and what you’re wanting to achieve. Ideally, you’ll be able to walk me through your space at this time.

2 — Client Questionnaire

Next you’ll fill out a questionnaire which will help you discover your likes, dislikes, what colors resonate with you, and all the elements to creating your ideal living space. This isn’t cookie cutter design, this is meant to help you create a space that feels like home in the truest sense of the word!

3 — Paperwork

Following our consultation and questionnaire, you’ll receive an email with a proposal outlining the scope of work as we discussed, along with a link for payment of deposit.

4 — Your Homework

We dive into the details! You’ll need to provide room dimensions in a rough sketch (no, you won’t be graded on your artistic ability!) - including placement (and size) of doors, windows, closets, permanent light fixtures and any other fixed elements in the space.

5 — I Create Your Design Plan

Style Boards (up to three revisions included). The boards will include furniture, accessories and paint colors.

6 — You Take It From Here!

Upon final approval and payment, I’ll send you the detailed shopping list along with links to purchase as well as an itemized budget so you can get started creating your sanctuary! And don’t worry - I’ll still be available to guide you in the decorating process, your design plan includes my assistance as needed (within reason please!) for the first month after design plan is delivered.

7 — Extra Assistance

I’m available to assist you with shopping (beyond what’s included in your design plan). For example, you can FaceTime me while you’re at the store or text pictures of items you’re not sure about. I can also virtually assist with furniture and accessory placement, in addition to assisting you with arranging bookshelves/kitchen shelves/counters. These services will be billed separately at $90 an hour and charged in 1/2 hour increments.

Renovation & New Build Consulting

Whether you’re thinking about a kitchen renovation or you’re finally building your dream house - it can be overwhelming to think about everything that goes into the planning and design process!

If you don’t have a plan, often times it’s too late to implement an idea without costly delays. After undertaking over half a dozen renovations and major rehab projects with my husband (see portfolio), I’ve learned a lot of the pitfalls by trial and error and have developed strategies to assist you in not only surviving but enjoying the process. Most importantly, I can help bring your vision to fruition while saving you time, money and frustration!

Depending upon the scope of your project, some of the services include:

  • Style Boards for Each Room as Applicable - in the case of a full home remodel or new construction, a Concept Board for your whole house will be completed first

  • Color Palette Boards including Wall and Trim Colors (and paint sheen specifications), Fixture Finishes, Flooring, Countertops, Tiles

  • Assisting with Electrical Plan - don’t expect your electrician to put the outlets and switches where you want and need them!

  • Room Layout - including kitchen and bathroom elements

  • Kitchen Countertop and Cabinet Selection

  • Lighting Selection - in the case of a whole home remodel or new construction, you’ll need to determine every single light you’ll want/need early on in the project and this can be a daunting process!

  • Creative Storage Space - this is an area that is often overlooked at the beginning of a project, and not the forte of most contractors/builders

  • Creating Unique Bathroom Vanities/Kitchen Islands and Other Areas of Interest

  • And I’m happy to share some of the secrets that my husband and I have developed for tackling a renovation and not only staying married but having fun along the way!

Contact me and we can discuss your project and I’ll provide you with a proposal including scope of work, timeline and pricing.

If you’re in the Charleston (SC) area and would like full service interior design, please contact me to discuss.
