“A place of solitude offers a retreat from the opposing forces and diverse demands of living, an entry into a state of peace and unity. Mind and body can retire from confusion and conflict to a sanctuary of clarity and harmony”

Cristina reached out for help in realizing her dream of having a room of her own, one where she could go to meditate, practice yoga and relax in solitude - along with her precious pups! She loves rich spice tones and Moroccan design and chose an inspiration photo to reflect the calm feeling she wanted to create. First step was in clearing out the room and deciding what to keep and what to use elsewhere in her home - or donate. One of her goals was to clear out the clutter. Quite often we have so much ‘stuff’ that we can’t relax!

Once the style design board was completed, Cristina got to work painting the walls and purchasing new furniture and accessories - most of which she was able to buy on line with the shopping links I provided. When she did go to a brick and mortar, she had her ‘blue print’ to help keep her on track and only purchased accessories that she knew would be harmonious in her new Zen Room. She often texted me photos of items so we could collaborate together, ensuring they were a good fit. I found the altar on FB Marketplace and Cristina was delighted when she saw the ‘treasure’! A rather fearless DIYer - Cristina also changed out the fan blades and glass globes on her ceiling fan, with items I found on Amazon. She also replaced the shade in the room - another Amazon find. The finished Zen Room provides Cristina with the peace and calm she was seeking and is the perfect retreat after a busy work day.
