This precious boy was a Christmas pup and then dumped at a rural high kill shelter in South Carolina by his former family (in 2016) when he was just three months old. Thankfully he was saved less than 24 hours before he was to be euthanized. His foster mom took him home and nursed him back to health - he was so emaciated that his stomach was swollen from severe starvation. It didn’t take long before Charlie’s foster mom join the ‘foster failure club’ when she adopted him and became his forever mom. Charlies still suffers long term side effects from his previous life and has generalized anxiety disorder but he’s so well loved and cherished and loves other dogs, women and children - men still scare him and he runs outside to hide when his fur sisters start to grumble at each other. He has such a tender heart and is a champion cuddler who sleeps snuggled up next to his forever mom after he smothers her with goodnight kisses.
